Updates

For those of you who are curious, within the CodeBreakthrough mentorship program we just started building a real app from scratch. This includes coming up with ideas, scoping out tasks, evaluating big decisions such as open source vs closed source, licenses, and app architecture. I'm leading the project and sharing tasks with those involved.

This has been a wonderful exercise as it accurately reproduces a real world environment (because we're building a real app). However you have ongoing support throughout the process so you're not just thrown in to the deep end to sink or swim. This is a much better learning experience than going in to a job without any prior app dev experience.

Additionally, I've been working on the messaging and target of this program. We have been focusing heavily on backend engineering, system design, APIs, databases, etc.

That being said, sometimes things are full stack, such as this app :)
